But
who is Madame Beltuner, that appears on each album cover, poster
or flyer of the band? and that you can meet (with her friend)
during some Beltuner concerts.
She called
"Manu", she was owning (since her 18 years to her 70!)
a tiny and old fashion bar "Aux Copains d'Abord" (that
means "Friends first", from a famous french song of
Georges Brassens), in the Marie and Louise street in Paris. She
welcomed there the very first notes of Beltuner and his strong
personality (she has been maried 7 for 7 times and for 3 times
widow), her energy and generosity would mark for ever the Beltuner
spirit.
For the cover of
thir first album Beltuner choosed a portrait of Manu realised
for her by the artist Nanad'panam who's workshop
was close to the bar. The original painting was announcing "Manu
yet has lost her skirt, she'd like to keep her pants!", as
warning for a possible refusal for clients who were asking for
some credit.
Since few time, Manu
reappeared with her friend, realised and animated by the company
Le Figuier (Cécile Favale) and it's possible
to meet her during some Beltuner concerts!
